Hond, Meyer de
(1882-1943)
   Dutch rabbi and author. He studied at the Rabbinical Seminary in Amsterdam and at the University of Amsterdam. Later he studied at the Rabbinical Seminary in Berlin and at the University of Würzburg. He worked as a religious teacher for young pupils and adults. In 1908 he founded the drama circle for the Jewish working-class society 'Betsalel'. He wrote short stories about life in the Amsterdam Jewish quarter.
